Marshall County Sheriff Mike Reynolds today endorsed Riley Hayes for the State Senate, calling her “the candidate who shows up — not just on the campaign trail, but every other day too.”

Sheriff Reynolds, a two-term elected official with deep ties across the district, praised Hayes’s record of constituent service and her support for community-policing initiatives during her six years on the school board.

“Riley listens to law enforcement and to the community equally. That’s not common, and that’s the difference. We need her in Annapolis.”

A growing list of bipartisan support

The Reynolds endorsement is the latest in a steady accumulation of cross-party backing for the Hayes campaign. So far, the campaign has been endorsed by:

  • Sheriff Mike Reynolds, Marshall County
  • Pastor James Hill, First Baptist Easton
  • Dr. Marcus Reed, Family physician
  • Sarah Cho, former Mayor of Easton
  • Dana Whitfield, current school-board member

Hayes thanked the Sheriff for his support and reiterated her commitment to funding local law enforcement, expanding mental-health response teams, and tougher penalties for fentanyl trafficking.

What comes next

The campaign will hold a public press event with the Sheriff at the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday at 10:00 AM. The event is open to the press and to constituents.
